As of now, this is strictly an experiment. Because my school has not adopted an e-portfolio platform, I keep looking for ways my students can create their own on free and easy sites. I realize that a wiki is perhaps antithetical to the concept of portfolios as wikis are designed to be multi-authored, but they don't have to be, and it is easy to add new pages to them.

Last year, my ENG 1123 students made portfolios using Freewebs.com. That worked well...until it didn't. Freewebs had some down times, and a few students had technical issues in building their sites that they were just never able to resolve. What they need are choices. Some had success building portfolios using a combination of Blogger of Google Docs. Others just never did get it all together that way. I'd like to offer them a variety of choices and let them pick the option that suits them best.
